Production & Mechatronics Engineer
- €40,000 - €55,000 per year
Design and build the automated systems that bring Arc's precision manufacturing onshore into Europe, from the ground up, in Groningen, Netherlands.
Job description
Arc
Arc is a rapidly growing luxury tech brand, known for designing the world's most minimalistic phone case, the Arc Pulse.
We are inventors, makers, and dreamers from across the world, united by craftsmanship, precision, and ambition. We learn from one another, collaborate openly, take ownership, and work to make a real difference. Together, we create meaningful, functional products that delight millions of users in their everyday lives.
Built for people who build the machines that build the products.
We are establishing Arc's production capability in the Netherlands from the ground up. This role is for an engineer who wants to design, build, and run the automated systems that bring precision manufacturing onshore into Europe. You will join a recently hired robotics automation engineer and form the core of a small, senior team with direct ownership over how Arc makes its products. The scope is broad, the equipment is serious, and the standard is uncompromising.
Responsibilities
Your core goal is to design and build automated production capability in the Netherlands.
• Design, build, and improve automated manufacturing systems for precision production.
• Develop monitoring and control systems that support process visibility, consistency, and performance.
• Integrate production equipment, tooling, and material flow into robust manufacturing workflows.
• Ensure process robustness, repeatability, uptime, and consistent quality across automated production steps.
• Program and operate precision fabrication equipment, including CNC platforms, and develop the tooling and fixturing required to support them.
• Specify, build, and integrate electrical cabinets, motion systems, and pneumatic infrastructure into production lines.
• Drive continuous improvement of cycle time, yield, and reliability across every automated step you own.
Why Join Us
Built for people who make things
We are a rapidly growing premium lifestyle product company with engineering at our core. Every product we ship reflects obsessive attention to craft and detail, and we expect the same from the people who build our production systems. You will have ownership, access to world class equipment, direct and frequent contact with the design and leadership teams.
What we offer
• Ownership of significant parts of the production engineering roadmap.
• Direct reporting line to the CTO or Head of Product, with frequent contact with founders and design leadership.
• A small, senior team. You join a recently hired robotics automation engineer and shape what production at Arc looks like from the inside.
• Access to advanced CNC, robotics, and fabrication equipment.
• Close collaboration with design, product, and leadership.
• Fast moving environment with meaningful technical challenges and true impact inside and beyond the company.
Compensation and Benefits
• Starting salary of €40,000 to €55,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Complimentary Arc products and pre launch prototypes, as well as reference products.
• Access to high end machinery and fabrication options.
• 26 paid vacation days (20 plus 6).
• Full time, on site five days per week in Groningen, Netherlands.
• Start date as soon as possible.
Job requirements
Essential Expertise
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven experience in the design and development of automated machinery, including tooling, workholding solutions, and assembly line systems.
• Strong knowledge of motion systems, including drives, servo motors, and actuators.
• Experience in the design and integration of electrical cabinets and high power systems.
• Solid proficiency in CAM programming, combined with hands on CNC machining experience.
• Advanced CAD skills for mechanical design and system integration.
• Practical experience with pneumatic systems, including compressed air distribution and vacuum systems.
• Strong work ethic, ownership mindset, and the ability to operate at pace without sacrificing precision.
• Comfortable communicating in English.
Optional
• Background in robotics, including advanced kinematics and motion control.
• Experience with injection moulding processes, including mould design and EDM manufacturing.
• Experience in wet line processes including anodization, electropolishing, and electroplating.
If you are obsessive about how things are made, take pride in building systems that run cleanly under load, and want real ownership over a production environment being built from zero, we would love to hear from you, even if you do not meet every requirement. You might be exactly who we are looking for.
